Announcement of the new Commerce Police Chief

 The 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 is excited to announce that 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 has accepted the job as the next 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. This appointment follows a comprehensive, nationwide recruitment and selection process. The City received interest from 38 qualified applicants across 8 states. Eight semi-finalists were selected from this pool, and three finalists were identified. Each finalist was invited to our community for a two-day interview process. Mr. Weatherford joins Commerce PD from the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office, where he has been serving as the Criminal Investigations Commander since 2017. Corley has also worked with the FBI Task Force for Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation and the US Secret Service for digital and computer forensics. During his tenure with the Hopkins County SO, he has developed a stellar track record of successful investigations and partnerships with local and federal prosecutors.
